Traveling on a Shoestring Budget: Challenge Accepted!

Share
I haven't traveled for awhile.  Last time that I've been out of my comfort zone was last year September, for my Indochina Adventure, which was of course UH-mazing and life changing to say the least!

Now I'm a budget freak because I just don't have the luxury to travel.  Some people do not travel at all because they think they just don't have the money.  But what if traveling to places in the Philippines could be doable with a mere budget of 1k?

Seems impossible?

I'll take on that challenge.  I'm a Davaoena and I dare to travel by bus, boat, habal-habal, whatever it takes to get me from A to B.

Follow me in this, yet another crazy undertaking.

May the spirit of luck be with me.

And if all else fails, my Mastercard has get me covered.

But yeah, as much as possible...

"Swiper, no swiping."  HAHAHA

And for my first task?

Go to Surigao, and visit there famous Enchanted River and Tinuy an Falls.

The first two pics were taken by a famous travel photographer, Jojie Alcantara.  Please check her photo blog for more of her amazing pics of the river and of her travels here in the Philippines and abroad.

The last pic was from The Chronicles of Love Mindanao, which showcases an array of natural beauties of Mindanao.

And knowing that the water there would be crystal clear, I'm thinking of doing an underwater pictorial, and name the pics, Enchanted in the Enchanted River.

And knowing well that both of us don't know how to swim, just expect our photos to be uglier and less graceful, and more like us looking like we're drowning.  And I'm not even kidding. Anyone could name the photos as The last pictures of Anne and Shy.  Well of course, things won't go that way. HAHA (ehem ehem)

Oh there's me and my extravagant and unrealistic side again.  What I know is that we will try.  No, promises, but we will just go do it and have fun! Wooohhhoo!

On picture, Tinuy An falls looks really grand and we are determined to witness first-hand its beauty.  I mean, who wouldn't?

Ok, the dates has been set, what's missing now is further planning, down to the nitty-gritty of things which could get a bit daunting, but I think it wouldn't be that much - after planning my Indochina trip- this would just be a breeze.

So there you go.

The Surigao dream would just be an arms reach now.  It's just a matter of time, actually. :)
