Yesterday was the Day I Wanted to Get Lost. But thought of Eating Instead.

Share
With only a pocket full of coins and handful of nerves, I decided that it wasn't a wise time for me to do this.  But it was definitely time for me to eat!  So yesterday, I visited Razon, a popular Pampanga food chain, to try their famous dishes.  It had made good in business, thus finding its way into Manila food scene and in different parts of Luzon and probably Visayas.  First time I went past it, I figured hey I saw that on tv before.  I should try it before I'll go home to Davao.

And so I did.

I went in to try their most note-worthy dishes: pancit luglog and halo halo.   I took a photo of these with my phone but I had some trouble uploading it.  That's not going to stop me from posting this.

Everyone! Meet the special pancit luglog of Razon.

Pancit luglog (Php95).Picture was taken from Senyorita lakwatsera's blog.
So you see it uses bigger rice noodles as compared to a usual pancit luglog which you'll find elsewhere.  This makes it more stickier which was a plus for me.  And then.

And then DESSERT everybodyyyy!

Razon's version of halo halo(Php99). Picture care of BradJill at Tripadvisor.
The moment had arrived.  Now a regular halo halo would have a lot of toppings on top and jellos and beans at the bottom, which are really good.   It gives you different texture and taste.  But this one at Razon's, they only had 3 major elements: leche flan on top, and banana and buko jam at the bottom.  All gooeey all creamy and sweet.  All major source of my happiness!  Well yeah halfway through, but after that, it was just too much for me.  My sweet tooth was already complaining of sugar overload!  There was too much sugar in it, I had to stop.  Drank 3 glasses full of water and left.

All in all.  It was ok.  I'm not crazy about it.  Just glad I tried it.  Hmmm, I wonder if I could visit Batangas for their famous Bulalo.  Heard it's only 2 hours away from here, and bus fare only costs Php100 or so.

Oh, the beauty of living in Manila.
