My top 10 Things to Do in Thailand

Lately I've been busy researching and planning for my trip in Thailand.  But now that I'm almost done. I finally figured out my Top 10 things I wanted to do when I get there.

10.  Party

Although I'm not much of a party person, I would still want to party in one of the hottest party places in Asia --- w here people go wild, and drugs are just candies.  Hmmm... does that sound like I'm ready to go crazy there.  Well let's see.

I'm actually not sure if I'll turn out to be super boring or super crazy there.  I hope it won't be the former.  Because you see, I'm really shy in person.  And I don't usually open up and converse with people I don't know.  But yeah, maybe a bottle or 2 of beer would do the trick. hehehhe

9. Ride a tuktuk

Tuktuk actually resembles one of our local transpo in the Philippines, tricycle.  But of course, it's different.  And since it's different, I would want to try riding it.

8. Get a Thai massage

I'm not a massage freak, but since I'm going to the country famous for it, then why the heck not.  There's also some malice when you say massage, because some massage parlors would offer 'extra service'.  I think that would be an offer some guys would get giddy about.  But since I'm not a guy, I'll go for the decent authentic massage.

7.  Mingle with the locals

The land of smiles, that's what Thailand is known for.  It's basically centers around the people.  They're kind and they show that through their smiles.  Because really, what other way to do it when you can't really communicate with them through words.

6. Shopping

I think Thailand has already been known for cheap and good clothes that it's already tantamount to shopping.  I say go to Thailand without any baggage and shop everything you need there!

One big challenge here though is that most people don't speak English. So I need to practice on my hand gestures or what nots.

5. Visit the temples

Temples in Thailand is one of the grandest things I've seen - on pics.  Well I'm sure it would be even more when I see them in person.

4. Eat Insects

I cannot let this chance pass by.  I have to try these weird delicacies for the experience of it and I must say that it's one of my dream to eat these insects.  I know it's weird.  But since I like weird, I'll dig it.  I don't think it would cost a lot.   These fried edibles are said to be found along Khao San Road, on Soi Cowboy near Asok Station, Ratchadapisek night market on saturday nights, and Chatuchak weekend markets on Saturdays and Sundays[1].

Dream item number 72, I am so ready to tick you off!

3. Watch the shadow dance

I think I've seen this in National Geographic before.  And I've come to think of it as something mystical.  Enigmatic.  Raw. Different. Tribal. All the good things that I've come to love.

I can't wait to reserve my seats on a good location, watch this whole thing happening while eating Thai food. Super!

2. Enjoy street food

Cheap, tasty, delicious.  That's what I know about street food.  I'm actually looking forward on trying those out more than eating in local restos.  Although that could be good too, but there's nothing like eating with the locals, and trying out different dips and pika pikas.  Hmmm... I think I'll have to bring anti-diarrhea meds with me... Just in case.

1. Bathe with elephants

This one I've almost forgot about when I was trying to draw out my initial list.  But when my friend reminded me, I was surprised that I've missed on it.  How can I? The moment I saw his pics with the elephants.  I said, Let's do it! :)

And so I will... Soon!
