Some tourists on their way up the hill towards St. Paul Church, Melaka. |
Sunset at St. Paul Church
It's best that you time your itinerary wisely, making sure that after going around Melaka, you head your way uphill to check the sunset. Best sunset spot in town is at a hilltop where St. Peter Church is found. It's not much of a climb, well it could get tiring after having gone around town. I however got tired from all the walking, which what we had been doing since 10am in the morning.
But it's ok because by the time we got there, the view was really worth it. The church itself is nothing but a skeletal structure. Only huge stone slabs could be found and a statue of St. Peter perched in front of it.

Sunset Watching
Find a good spot. For us, we head halfway down the hill and made a seat out of protruding hard soil. It was comfortable enough for us to stay for minutes and enjoy the breathtaking scene of the sunset of Melaka. My friend and I didn't talk that much. Well we did, initially. After that we just stared at the sunset most of the time. We could not really talk a lot anymore and ignore that beautiful sight in front of us. I just stared at it quiet and happy. For me, it was enough.
