I'm starting to get obsessed with
mehndis.
Ever since I had seen some pictures of these on the internet, I get this voice in my head saying 'me too!' - that is an indication for me that I want to try it too soon if not later. What makes the difference from those which I've actually pushed through from those which I haven't, is that the ones I haven't done, had 'me too!' persisting for few months and then would dwindle away to 'never mind'. As for the things I pursued, the answer was always a 'me too' even after years. That's when I know that I really really wanted to do it, and that's true to who I am, and that it feels good to me.
I love it for these reasons.
They're gorgeous.
classy,
intricate,
and just simply divine.
Now my friend will marry her Nepali fiance some time this year. And I am itching to be one of the wedding organizers. So if that would happen then I would definitely push the idea of a mehindi session prior the wedding. Weeee... So as early as now, I'm looking forward on practicing making mehndis on me.
Here are the 10 designs I'm looking into doing for myself:
I love how the drawings on both hands are reflections of each other
and how the design is well defined and doesn't look like a mess.
Glitters + Colors + Fun and Neat design = I'm sold!
I like how the floral designs moves down the fingers delicately.
I'm still a fan of symmetrical designs here, and I love the fact that it looks like long gloves, but the kind which opens at the finger tips.
How cute is that?!
This reminds me of some royal gloves, and
who doesn't want to feel like a royalty?
The delicate design at the fingers is just the bomb!
By now I notice I'm leaning towards designs which directs your eyes down to the fingertips. I think it just makes your hands looking sexy for some reason.
It also helps if your hands ARE sexy.
Again, twin design is still getting me here and I love how you can see a heart forming at the middle when you stick both your hands side to side.
I like how it looks like gloves. The fingers are covered with henna but still looking soft and feminine.
Flowers and glitters, who doesn't like that?
After doing a bit of research, I've found out where I could find henna powder within the city so I'll probably have to check it out tomorrow.
Can't wait!

The fourth picture down actually looks like the person has a black netting over their hand. It's got a beautiful design and is my favourtite. I also like the 6th photo.
You have to be such a good designer with a steady hand to get this right, but they all are very artistic. Thumbs up to anyone who does this job for a living.
@Rum-Punch Drunk: hey nice picks there! I know the challenge I had gotten myself into. Making mehndi is definitely no walk in the park. I could only wonder how much time I'll have to spare on making mine look at least decent.I might post my attempts on here so everyone could see my fails. hahaha
thanks much for commenting! Much appreciated ^^
