50 Things to do When Bored at Home

Share
What to do when you're bored?

Source
YES wake up Mr. Bean.  You don't have to live this way in your what? 10 years remaining here on earth yeah?

Below are just a few things I've thought to make your life a bit colorful.

Enjoy!

1. Go treat yourself for a spa at home to perk up your tired skin.  Some salt, lemon could be used to exfoliate your elbows or knees or anywhere that needs exfoliation.  Anywhere except for the face, on there you may use oatmeal and honey or milk.  Not only these serve as great exfoliants to eliminate those booboo but they also do a great job nourishing your skin! Talking about hitting two birds at the same time! :)

2. Plan out that ultimate weekend adventure.  Do things that would make you smile 20 years or 60 years from now.  Something crazy awesome trip that would let your grandchildren think you're the coolest and the type that would give you that huge grin on your face while relaxing on your good ol' rocking chair pretending to be sleeping.  Today is the best time to make good memories mate.  Make it happen! :)

3. Clean your room.  Don't wait for your mum or friends to say how much of a pig you are.  Pick up those party clothes you wore last week on the floor.  Those belong to the hamper.  Throw those old receipts and worthless brochures you left crowding on your table.  Those belong to the garbage.  Give to Ceasar what is Ceasar's.  Those trash needs to go somewhere else.  And you dear, you deserve a clean human room and not a pig pen.

4. Plan out your meal for the week. Nothing beats planning.  Not only will you save that precious few minutes on figuring out what to eat for breakfast or dinner, it will also help you budget your groceries wisely.  This prevents you from throwing away rotting vegetables.  In here, everything will be utilized. Smart one yeah?

5. Find a friend abroad.  Internet has made this a whole lot easier.  With just a sign up away, you'll have access to a number of potential penfriends around the world who are also as enthusiastic as you on finding that foreign friend whom you could share information and culture with.  They would make an instant tour guides once you decide to visit their country and vice versa.

6. Read that book.  You'll never know, there could be a great adventure or life lesson waiting for you in those pages.  Pick it up, and warp yourself in another world.  It's fun, free and magical.

7. Take a lot of nice pictures of you.  By the time you'll be old and gray you'll have memories of your youth. With the good amount of lighting, the right angle  and with happy thoughts, you'll realize that you're actually cute.  Don't even dare to realize that by the time you're 80 years old.

8. Make your bucket list and make sure you'll schedule a dream waiting to be experienced each month.  It could be as small as making that dream catcher to as big as an out-of-the-country vacation.  Whatever it is, plan it out.  You'll feel good after.  Trust me.

9. Plant a seed in your garden.  Watch it grow.  You'll be amaze that you are able to give life to something without getting pregnant.  Create and procreate, isn't that what we're supposed to do here on earth?

10. Try splitting.  That's probably something you haven't done and now that you realize that.  You'll probably do it because of the fact that you haven't done it yet, and if you will try then congratulations, you just gave yourself another landmark in your life.  You're welcome.

11. Watch that movie.  You've been dying to see Chocolat but you just had this important document to submit and couldn't find the time to go to the movie theatre.  Well the internet is your friend.  Go watch Johnny Depp eat that nasty dark chocolate.  I mean, come on, Johnny Depp and chocolates?  What could be better than that?!

12.  List down 3 things you would kill yourself for.  Protect, fight, and nourish these everyday.  Some people would have their priorities screwed up.  Knowing these 3 things makes you aware which things should go on top, always.

13.  Dig in to your old memoirs.  You'll realize how much you've grown, what had changed and remained same in you.  Read your diaries, letters from friends, old pictures.   I assure you, you'll be smiling all throughout, and even cringe knowing how much of a dweeb you were and happier, now that you feel more confident and beautiful.

14. Study your face and body, and learn to smile with whatever you see.  Just at least try to smile will you?! Force yourself to smile if you have to. Thank you. Compliment your strength and make fun of your flaws.  Those imperfections make you unique.  If you can't feel at peace with it then figure out on how to make it better.

15.  Go outside the house, grab a chair, sit, and observe your surroundings.  Do people watching.  You'll get joy from observing all the banal things that you ignore most of the week.  Take time to build that fascination.  Be aware of everything that your senses picks up. Be present.

16.  Get a good long bath.  Study your body.  You should know every marks, scars, moles, and wrinkles you have.  That's your only body.  No one else should know it better more than you.

17.  Click some nice looking picture of your surroundings.  You'll soon forget what you did today.  The picture would be your evidence that you actually did something fun, productive, or different.

18. Try out that exotic food you've been dying to have.  No Indian or Arabian restos around you?  Well bring in curries and hummus into your kitchen.  Create dishes that will have your friends begging for more.

19. Prepare yourself a healthy snack.  Here's one way of fooling yourself that you actually are a healthy eater.

20. Set up an account in a dating site. You'll never know where you could find your prince charming.  Keep your options open. I know there are many psychos there but if you have a good head on your shoulders, you'll be fine.

21. Dream.  Because aren't we all build to do that?  And oh... do me a favor, do something about it.  (that's me talking to myself)

22. Figure out which country to go this year.  Knowing where your next destination is would give you more chances to get that promo seats you've been wanting.

23.  Experiment on ways on how to make yourself look more attractive.  Practice putting make up on. Figure out which hair style looks best on you.  Learn more ways to style your hair.  Do you!

24. Write down 5 things you are grateful for.  Because you're feeling a bit sad and clueless now (why else did you read this post in the first place?).  You need to see the good in this world and that it is really a gift to be alive.

25.  Listen to your favorite music and sing your heart out.  Because you're dead bored and singing and shouting are fun so you're welcome. :)

[This is taking me waaayyy too long to finish...]

26.  Don't wear underwear.  People in the house will forever wonder why you're grinning from ear to ear.

27.  Write a letter to yourself, hide it and read it after a month.  You'll be amaze of the realizations you'll get from it.

28.  Know what makes you tick, what makes you laugh and use those to your advantage.

29.  Snip out a few centimeters off your hair.  It's amazing how a few changes would make you feel different and anew.

[It's amazing how much I use the word 'amaze' in this post.  My vocabulary is just full of amazing stuff.]

30.  Start a good conversation with your loved ones.  Be curious and get to know people living in the same house as you do.  That freak living next door is your brother, deal with it.

31.  Turn up the volume and dance like there's no tomorrow.  That's just how you do it.  Getting on the down low is the new thing.

32.  Shout.  Make that release.  Vent all that angst, anger, or frustration.

[I should've sticked to 20 items only... *facepalm]

33.  Dress up. Because you don't want to dress down looking frumpy and sad.

34.  Download great app. There are billions of freebies left for your taking and apps are just one of those.  Exploit them!

35.  Exercise.  Are you going to fly with that wings on your arms?  Oh is that the newest thing now?  Oh those are just flabs... I see... Not attractive at all.

36.  Try out a new yoga pose.  You can actually look cool doing so.  That or just plain stupid, eitherway it's healthy so try doing it anyway.  Done? Ok.  So now you can tell people that you do yoga for exercise, that's how you could impress them.

37.  Learn a new language.  Impress people strategy #2.

38. Send out e cards to your loved ones.  Surprise them! Send them an e-card of that dancing mufasa.  Make them smile.  You know you want that you sick people pleaser you!

39.  Watch the sun set.  Because you're getting old and that's what old people do.

[I can't make it...]

40.  Play some brain enhancer games.  You need to because no one wants to be dumb, unless you want to, then there's nothing much I can do about it.

41.  Create a dream board.  Because it's creative and you need to see pictures of your dreams, as opposed to a swirl of misty rainbow colors in your brain.  Wait is that one of the reasons why some guys think they're gay? (kidding!)

42.  Say an affirmation out loud and repeat it 10 times.  Because it's just what you need to get it down.

[@_@...dying]

43. Call your friends or any close family and check up on them, see what they're doing.  To let them know that you're still alive.

44. Meditate and breath deeply. Breeaatthh deeepply.  Yes. You are still alive.  Enjoy.

45.Start planning for your dream business.  Because... do we really have to have reasons for everything?

46. Plan out how you will manage your finances.  I agree.

47.Clean your closet. Refer to Item 3.

48.Think about your bad habits and list them out.  Yes.

49. Pick up on some old hobbies. uhu.

50. Think of other creative things on how to make your day interesting.  :)

These are some excellent ideas! I especially like 8 (even if you never get to do what’s on your list, just planning it makes you feel good), 15 & 17 (I do that), 21 (yes, always dream), 25 & 31 (singing out loud is great fun and so is dancing like there’s no tomorrow), 26 (LOL!!), 27 (that’s a good idea for gaining insight), and 39 (and Not because I’m getting old LOL!). Good job making the list and you can add number 51. Make a list of 50 things to do when bored. Doing that will keep anyone from being bored! :)

@JerseyLil: haha, thanks much jersey! I did enjoy making the list, although, I must admit, it was a bit draining to come up with 50. And yeah, #51 is great addition! Thinking of 50 items or more would definitely squeeze out your creative juice which would help you think of ways you never have thought of before.

Cheers to an awesome, bored-free life! :)
